RunQ Terms of Service
Last updated: 20 September 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and RunQ ("we", "us", "the app") for your use of the RunQ application and services. By creating an account or using the app, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
Who can use RunQ
- You must be at least 13 years old. If the law where you live sets a higher age for consenting to online services, you must meet that age instead.
- You are responsible for your account and for anything done through it. Keep your sign-in details to yourself.
- One person, one account. Do not impersonate anyone else or misrepresent who you are.
Your content
RunQ lets you create and share content — runs, routes and published tracks, photos, profile details, crew and event pages, comments, and messages. You keep ownership of what you create. You give us the permission we need to host, store and display it so the app can work: showing your run to people you share it with, putting a published track in Discover, or delivering a message to its recipient. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we are required to keep by law or that other users have already received.
You are responsible for what you post. Only post content you have the right to post.
Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users on RunQ. You agree not to post, send, or share content, and not to behave in ways, that:
- harass, bully, threaten, stalk or intimidate any person;
- are hateful or discriminatory, or promote hatred or violence against people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or any similar characteristic;
- are sexually explicit, pornographic, or sexualise a minor in any way;
- depict or encourage violence, self-harm, suicide, eating disorders, or dangerous activity;
- are illegal, promote illegal activity, or infringe anyone's intellectual property or privacy;
- reveal another person's private information, including their home address or location, without their consent;
- are spam, scams, fraudulent, or deliberately misleading;
- falsify activity data in order to gain points, ranking or standing — including recording runs by vehicle, editing or importing fabricated activity, or using another person's activity as your own.
Reporting, blocking and enforcement
Every piece of user content and every profile in RunQ can be reported from within the app, and you can block any user, which hides both of you from each other. We review reports and act on them.
We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, without notice where the breach is serious. Accounts that post objectionable content or abuse other users will be ejected. Decisions about scores, rankings, leagues and competitions are ours to make, and we may remove or adjust results obtained by falsified activity.
Safety while running
RunQ is a fitness and social app, not a medical device and not a medical or training authority. Training plans, coaching cues, pace targets and calorie or health figures are estimates and general information only — they are not medical advice. Consult a doctor before starting or changing an exercise programme.
You are responsible for your own safety. Pay attention to your surroundings, traffic and conditions. Never rely on the app's screen, audio cues or map while running in a place where doing so is unsafe. Follow the law wherever you run.
Subscriptions and payment
Some features are offered through a paid subscription. If you buy one:
- Payment is taken by the app store you bought through (Apple or Google), under that store's terms, and charged to your store account at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the period ends.
- Your store account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends, at the price shown for the renewing period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in your store account settings at any time. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not retroactively refund the period you are in.
- Prices are shown in the app before you buy and may change; we will tell you before a change affects you.
- Refunds are handled by the app store you bought through, under its policy, not by us.
Paid features add reach and depth. They do not buy competitive advantage: points, league standing, challenges, crew battles and turf work the same way for everyone, paid or not.
Acceptable use of the service
- Do not attempt to break, overload, probe or circumvent the app's security or rate limits.
- Do not scrape, bulk-download or resell data from the app.
- Do not reverse engineer the app except to the extent the law expressly allows.
- Do not use the app to build a competing product or to send unsolicited marketing to other users.
Ending your use
You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account; the privacy policy explains what happens to your data and the short grace period in which you can restore it. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or stop offering the service, with notice where it is reasonable to give it.
Disclaimers and liability
The app is provided "as is". We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that distances, paces, routes, calorie figures or health readings will be accurate. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from your use of the app, from other users' content or conduct, or from your physical activity.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you keep all the statutory rights the law gives you.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; we will revise the date above when we do, and tell you in the app where the change is significant. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live.
